| News Title: | 2009 Deep South Classic Most Valuable Players and All Tournament Boys and Girls Teams Announced |
Devyn Morse, a 6’5” forward for the 2009 Deep South Classic Champion South Cobb Eagles, was named the 2009 Deep South Classic Boys MVP. Morse had 11 fourth quarter points in the boys’ championship game to lead his team to a thrilling 54-53 win over the Winder Barrow Bulldoggs.
Joining Morse on the All-Tournament Boys team was South Cobb teammate Corey Ross, Basil Jones from Osborne, Kyle Speller from Mill Creek and Demetrius Butler and Alonzo Nelson-Odado from runner-up Winder-Barrow.
Christy Robinson of the Northwest Whitfield Lady Burins was selected as the 2009 19th Annual Deep South Classic Girls Tournament Most Valuable Player. Robinson a 6’3” post player for the Lady Bruins also was named as the Deep South Classic girl’s scholar athlete.
Joining on the All Tournament Girls Teams were: Moniqua Darby from McEachern, Erika Waters from Peachtree Ridge, Ashlee Cole from Runner-up Forest Park and Baleigh Coley, and
Jordi Cook from the Northwest Whitfield champions.
