| News Title: | Scholar Athlete Awards to be Given Again |
The 19th Annual Deep South Classic will again be providing awards to the top senior boy and girl scholar athlete in this year’s tournament.
We’re continuing our tradition of recognizing the top scholar athletes by awarding two lap top computers,” stated Tournament Director Les Witmer. “This scholar athlete competition has continued to be a real highlight of the Deep South Classic tournament.”
The rules of the competition allow only one entry per team. The player is nominated by his or her coach and provides the tournament with their attained scholastic information and also must submit a short essay. This year’s topic is “What competing in high school scholastic sports has meant to me.”
The winners are announced and the lap top computers are awarded at the conclusion of the final championship game during the awards presentation.
